Dear AAA Water Tanks,

I notice you manufacture rainwater tanks and wondered if you could help me. I am thinking of buying a poly tank but would like to know if it can be recycled when it eventually is broken down by sunlight. I would like to think I was doing the right thing by the environment in buying a tank which can be recycled at the end of its life.

Thanks for your help

Hi Pam,

Could you please tell me the name and email address of your Managing Director? I would like to ask some questions.

Thanks,

Hi Don,

We are a family business, who distribute rainwater tanks and therefore we do not have this kind of management structure. I therefore suggest that if this is a matter of concern to you, you should contact manufacturers who may potentially have this information, rather than distributers.

Hi Simon,

I am a little perplexed with what you and Pam are saying. Had a look on your website and you seem to stock two brands of tanks - Downpour and Polymaster. What is Pam meaning by "I have been in contact with our suppliers and I do believe you have the relevant information already sent to you by our suppliers" ? I don't recall receiving any information from these manufacturers?

From what I understand of your advertising you sell tanks direct to the public rather than a middleman distibuter? Is this right? If you are a retailer I would have thought it was your responsibility to answer and advise the public on any question regarding the products you sell. If you don't know whether poly tanks can be recycled at the end of their life when degraded by sunlight I would have expected you to ask the manufacturer and get back to me. This is how it normally works.

Look forward to hearing from you and what the manufacturers Downpour and Polymaster are advising.

Regards
Don Matthews

Don, why don't you prove that a 15 + year plastic water tank can't be recyled.
